Overachiever

I have this sinking suspicion at work that I'm overachieving. The job still seems to be too easy which means I'm cruising through rx packets with ease. To the point where I'm in the top two of the new people hired. I suspect that the girl who's with me is actually better over all as I am sometimes somewhat scattered. I still really like my job because it makes me think. It may be a nine hour a day office job but it's hard and I like a challenge.

My parents came this weekend which was really cool if somewhat stressful. They enjoyed coming to see us in Fresno and took us out to dinner. Additionally, we went to Sequoia National Park which was a lot of fun. Those trees are huge. Plus no bears, but we did see a mule dear. And got some killer home grown strawberries on the way up there.

Chris and I have picked up swimming as a hobby which is fun for us. It's a good way to cool down and stretch out after a day of work.

The Olympics have been really fun to watch. Mostly for the footage of China where it's like "I've been there, only it was cold". I'm still mad that the equestrian footage isn't on any station, but I am pleased that they are streaming it live. The last time I checked the US was in third over all. The Cross Country course looks amazing. Very pretty. The best part about streaming online is the lack of commentary other then someone they paid to type some comments here and there. Those tend to be helpful and brief.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who likes the lack of commentary on the online streams...who needs some annoying dude blabbing in your ear, especially when half the time they don't know that much.

I have a job interview tomorrow! Wish me luck

Exactly. Especially these news commentators who do horse stuff maybe twice a year. What I really really want is to watch coverage from another country. I'm so sick of the only two groups being in these games being America and China. Did you know there's a third medal? And that some team from some other country usually wins it? I literally had to look up who got silver in mens gymnastics because not only did NBC not say in the recap, but they also cut Japan out of the picture. Womens gymnastics last night as far as I know showed one Romanian girl on the high bars. Other then that you wold think this is China vs. the US.

Sorry about that mini-rant.

I wish all the luck in the world in your job interview today. Go fourth and impress them most mightily. I'm sure you will.

I completely agree with not showing anybody else besides the US and China...it's the same thing with the NBA games that get put on TV. They stick with the most popular 10 or 15 teams for 90% of the games that shown on TV. If you want to see some players on another team, or see a team you like that isn't doing so well, too bad. The worst part is they set the schedule before the season starts, based on last year's results, so a team that was good last year but sucks this year will be on TV all the time, while some up-and-coming team will never get any airtime. Happened last year when Miami sucked so bad while teams like New Orleans and Portland were hardly on at all.

It's frustrating, but think about it from a ratings and popularity standpoint. Of course they're going to focus on these two countries, seeing as we're neck-and-neck in the all-important medal count and China is the host country.

I know. I'm just so sick of it. And you wouldn't realize that China has issues at all because no one mentions it ever. I mean Bush might have given the best interview I've ever seen him give, but he's also patting China on the back and praising them for their religious freedom while people get arrested. So I guess it all just depends on how you look at things.
