It Has Begun

The move to dreamwidth has begun. I am of course ninj on dreamwidth. This is thanks to the wonderful starlady who gave me the code. I have had everything from lj imported to dreamwidth. Sadly, this all came over with my new default icon of The Fool. So that icon is less thrilling then it first was when I picked it. I have disabled comments on lj so you will have to log in with open ID on dreamwidth (it's just your lj user address) to comment. If this is hard and you don't want to, but would like to comment on this journal by all means let me know and I will switch it back. Most of my friends list is still on LJ so I will still be there too.

Tagging. Um help. Because I thought Dreamwidth was supposed to have a better tagging system so that I could link tags that were related, but I can't seem to figure it out. I played around with it a little. The plan right now is to do one month of historical tagging a day and sort of catch up from there. I'm starting in 2005 because I was reading journal entries before that, and I'm just not sure I want people find those. Besides a lot of them would be tagged with 'I was stupid'.

Work is long and hard. We are supposed to go live tomorrow at noon. Cross your fingers people because it's going to be pretty darn interesting. I got my numbers back from April and those were good. I'm happy because April was a pretty bad month for work days. Sadly, my timecard system is not working at this point. I would very much like to get paid next week. Yes.

NCIS continues to make me twitch. This was not the Ziva and Tony relationship I've seen forming for years . Nope. And they've said somebody is going to die. Yay, more character death. Oh look, another new tag *twitches*.

I know exactly what you mean re: old entries. I was reading mine from the first year or so...ugh. I was an idiot, as well as a gossipy bitch. Yup, 99% of them are eyes-only to me now.

Anyway, welcome! Also, I don't think that icon is that bad, but that might be because I've never seen it before.

I know the tagging system is sensitive to colons. I wonder if you can tag things with multiple colons, like "TV: ncis: fic" or something, and whether it would register as a subtag of both TV and ncis? Hmm...

That's what I'm trying to do now. Things like Fic:pocky (this is from way back). We shall see.

I'm not going to make my posts eyes only-I don't think. I don't know, the point may come when I can't stand people reading about Yi-Gi-Oh card game days and I have to private lock those posts. Who knows. A lot of it is cringful-but at the same time I was a really excited person when I joined LJ. It was right before I went to Japan.

Oh no. I love my Fool icon. I just wish it hadn't defaulted to every single imported entry. I love The Fool. If you have not read Robin Hobb's Tawny Mann series I'd recommend it. It's a sequel to her Assassin trilogy which is interesting, but I'm not as fond of Fitz. At all.

I read the first two books of the Assassin trilogy a long time ago, never bothered to pick up the third. But I shall add the Fool to my list.

I was very excitable too. I talked about the Bleach anime all the time.

Yes. I'll keep cross posting for a significant amount of time for sure though. I like all the add free content, and the open platforming.

I'm pretty suck on LJ. I've kinda built up a life there and moving it all seems a little frustrating. Plus, I got myself an Insane Journal and I don't even use it. And also, not entirely sold on DW yet. I want to see how they develop first.
